It's been a while......

I miss blogging. My xanga is ok, but I changed something and now I can't fix it. Which, is the main reason I stopped blogging a while back. I forgot about this one. So, I think I will just have this one. Brilliant.

We've been busy...of course

Lately we have been doing a lot of driving....and taking our Suburban is not cheap. All kids have been taking science classes at The Tacoma Nature Center...well..Mila is taking classes at the Adrianna Hess Audubon Center. Nathan has been doing History at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum. One saturday he got to spend all day learning open fire cooking with cast iron. Now that was cool!

Nathan's class rooms for today

While we waited for Nathan's class to be done we went to Owen Beach.

.....and of all things, got to pet a wolf..I believe the owner said it was 2% something else..to make it legal. Beautiful creature..sure hope it has room to run!

Then, since we had more time to kill...we went on a hike!

I do have more to share...but I didn't know it was this late!

Need to get caught up!

I have not posted much of our summer. I think I will start with birthdays. First...Tyler's. He turned 14...yes..14 years old on the 29th of August.

Lots on new things going on in his life. He has decided to attend public school. High school at that. He is doing wonderful and he is loving it. He also started football. I do miss him around the home during the day.

Here he is on his birthday!

Pretzels

Last night, Mila and I read, Walter The Baker, by Eric Carle. Which, of course, lead to making homemade pretzels today!

(Note Mila's apron she made from scrap fabric, yarn and a bikini top. Ha!)

Hunter had to get in on the fun!

Andrew just had fun with the dough.

Ta-da! Finished product. Yum.

We also learned that one of the theories behind they way a pretzel is shaped. They are shaped like that because they represent a child praying. The Monks, (Seventh Century France) would reward children with them.

Tyler had football practice today. Nathan has been doing yard projects with Grandma. Hunter...has been Hunter and has been on the move allllll day.  Mila is a never ending chain of ideas...lol. Andrew has been riding his bike and Kyle has been keeping mama on her toes.

Tomorrow Hunter has a homeschool science class at the Tacoma Nature Center. Fun!
